Foal by Calvaro Z:
March 31, 2006
Two more foals at our stud farm last week: a bay stallion, again from Canturo, out of a Fier de Lui Z x
Sorgenbrecher mare, and a black stallion from Calvaro, out of a Narcos II x Almé Z mare. We talked about Canturo before, so now some information about the famous Calvaro Z.
Calvaro FCS ( Caletto I x Capitol I ) was 1997 Dutch Champion and came 2nd in the German Classics and Pulsar Crown, in Monterrey and in Valkenswaard, as well as claiming silver for the team at the 1997 Mannheim European Championship. In 1998 Calvaro FCS jumped the Rome World Championship with Jos Lansink.
In 1999 Michael Whitaker took over the ride on Calvaro FCS where he competed successfully in The European Championships at Hickstead. he was also a regular member of The Great Britain Nations Cup Team with success at Dublin and Aacen. Due to his show jumping commitments Calvaro himself started his stud career late. However, in his first season, he produced 232 foals and in his second season 248 while standing at Zangersheide with a stud fee of 2.300 Euro. At his first auction, his foals were selling from between 8.000 Euro to 15.000 Euro.
Calvaro's bloodlines have produced some of the world's best showjumping horses. With several major Grand Prix wins, a European Championship medal and a fantastic performance in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games to his credit, partnered by the top riders Jos Lansink, Michael and John Whitaker, he is a great asset for breeding showjumpers.
